Hi, I’m Valery Vengerov, Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada
I describe myself as a psychodynamically oriented integrative therapist with a down-to-earth, compassionate approach. I have a Masters in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, with over 9,000 hours of direct client work in private practice and extensive supervision by industry leading psychologists and alternative practitioners.
I prioritize trust, safety and authenticity above all. My approach focuses on gently uncovering the beliefs, emotions, and memories that hold your symptoms in place, through long-term, transformative work. I offer personalized tools to manage symptoms in the short term.
I’m licensed in Ontario, Canada. I work exclusively with adults and couples. My practice is 100% virtual.
Areas of speciality
Most of my clients are experienced with therapy, self-development or alternative medicines. They are highly motivated to evolve and heal, willing to take accountability, and embrace discomfort as part of growth. They seek transformation not only for themselves but to improve their relationships, their communities and broader life purpose.
For those new to therapy, I’m happy to work together to identify your unique needs and offer resources and referrals where appropriate. Some will go off to complete other programs and return to work with me once they’re equipped and ready to go deeper.
I specialize in working with complex trauma, mood and personality disorders.
Professional credentials
Member of the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario, Master’s of Clinical and Counselling Psychology, Bachelor of Arts and Science, Psychology Specialist, Member of the Canadian Psychological Association and the Ontario Psychological Association, EMDR Therapy Training, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, Imago Therapy for Couples, Member of the Canadian Society for Clinical Hypnotherapy, Reiki Level 1 & 2.
You can expect sessions to feel safe, collaborative, and focused on your personal needs. We may explore your emotions through somatic techniques, process trauma with EMDR, or delve into the unconscious layers of your experiences using psychoanalytic approaches.
The success of therapy depends on willingness, consistency, and trust. Moments of progress come from asking meaningful questions, pausing to feel, process, and reflect.
My style is warm, curious, non-judgmental, creative, and practical. It continues to evolve, with over a decade of study, practice, travel, and self-development.
